Create Horror Stories with AI – Free Tools & Monetization Guide

People love listening to or watching horror stories. Channels like Khuni Monday and Scary Pumpkin have gained massive popularity in recent years — pulling in millions of views and building huge subscriber bases. Their gripping storytelling, chilling narration, and consistent niche-focused content have made them fan favorites, especially among horror and mystery lovers.

What makes them stand out is their ability to combine suspenseful voiceovers with well-researched stories and atmospheric visuals. Even without showing their faces, these creators have built strong personal brands — all thanks to powerful audio, creative scripting, and smart use of AI tools and video automation.

If you’re planning to start a faceless YouTube channel, this is the perfect example of how much potential there is in this space. With the right tools and strategy, you too can create binge-worthy content that attracts loyal viewers over time.

You can also create such videos very easily, even if you’re just starting out. You don’t need to become exactly like big creators such as Khuni Monday or Scary Pumpkin — because yes, they often use advanced editing software, voice modulating tools, and have years of experience in scripting and production.

But here’s the exciting part — you don’t need all that to get started.

What truly matters is your storytelling ability. If you can write engaging, mysterious, or thrilling stories — you’re already ahead of most people. Right now, very few creators are focusing on original storytelling, especially in regional languages or niche topics. That gives you a golden opportunity to stand out.

With AI tools available today, you can generate voiceovers, background music, visuals, and even scripts — all with very little technical knowledge. So instead of waiting to master everything, just start creating — your unique stories can be the reason someone binge-watches your channel.

Why You Should Watch Till the End

It's very important to watch the video till the end, because I’ll be sharing something crucial related to monetization.

This was just a demo.

🛠️ How This Video Was Possibly Made

These types of videos can be created entirely with the help of AI, and the best part is — you don’t need expensive tools or a professional studio to get started.

First, you can generate the voice-over using AI tools like ElevenLabs, Gemini, or even free alternatives that offer realistic and expressive voice options. Just write your script, and let the AI do the narration for you.

Then, use AI image generators such as Midjourney, Leonardo AI, or Bing Image Creator to create relevant images for each scene or story frame. This brings your content to life visually, without the need to draw or take your own photos.

Finally, bring everything together using free video editors like CapCut, VN, or Kinemaster. These tools are beginner-friendly, support drag-and-drop timelines, and let you add music, subtitles, and transitions — making your video look clean and professional even on a smartphone.

So in short, using just AI voiceovers, AI images, and a free video editing app, you can create powerful, engaging videos that people love to watch — all without ever showing your face or recording your own voice.

First of all, write a horror script with suspense. Use AI to help, but don’t let AI write the full script — keep your own creativity too.

Next step is to do voice-over using AI. You can use 11labs or any other AI voice tool. I’ve already explained in my blog how you can generate AI voice for free — with 19 different voice options.

After that, give your script to AI and ask it to generate image prompts — meaning for every scene in your script, AI should write an image prompt accordingly.

Now you’ll need a video editor application. Use any app you like — personally, I use Kinemaster.

If you know how to use a video editor, then this part will be easy. Just open a blank canvas in Kinemaster,

and import the voice-over audio we created using text-to-speech.

Then import all the images we generated, one by one as layers.

Where cuts are needed, add them. Where effects are needed — like light zoom-in or zoom-out — apply those too.

After creating all the scenes, listen to the full video once. If anything feels off, edit again.

Now, add some non-copyright sound effects and background music. Finally, save the video. That’s it!.

If you’re wondering where to get sound effects and background music, don’t worry — I’ve got you.
I personally use these sites:

Pixabay.com – Free sound effects and music (no copyright)

Mixkit.co – Great background tracks, totally free

YouTube Audio Library – Safe for AdSense, and super easy to use

💡 The Most Important Part – Monetization

What people will do is generate scripts using ChatGPT or other tools to make horror stories. But that will lead to a flood of reused content, which YouTube does not like.

I’ve seen some channels not get monetized

Because either they copy scripts from somewhere or the entire content is fully AI-generated — plus, the voiceover sounds robotic. Viewers don’t enjoy that kind of content, and YouTube rejects it too.

But most smart creators still get monetized, because they know exactly how to write scripts and how to do the voiceover properly.

And if you follow the right steps, you can also get monetized easily.

That’s why it’s best to:

Write the Scripts Yourself

If you want your content to truly stand out, writing your own scripts is a great first step. Even if you use AI for voice or visuals, a script written in your own words brings originality and personality to your videos. It helps you connect better with your audience, and platforms like YouTube often favor content that feels unique and human. Plus, it’s a great way to build your storytelling skills over time.

Use Ultra-Realistic AI Voices (If Possible)

When it comes to narration, using ultra-realistic AI voices can make a huge difference. Tools like ElevenLabs, PlayHT, or even Google’s Gemini can generate voices that sound almost human — complete with natural pauses, emotion, and emphasis. This makes your videos feel more professional and engaging, especially for faceless or narration-driven content. If possible, choose voices that match your content’s tone — calm for stories, energetic for explainers, etc.

Edit Your Videos Properly for a Natural Feel

A well-edited video can turn a simple idea into something binge-worthy. Use free editors like CapCut, VN, or Kinemaster to cut out silence, add smooth transitions, insert background music, and align visuals perfectly with the narration. Editing is where the magic happens, so take your time to polish the final output. Even small touches — like subtitles or sound effects — can make your video feel more original and less “AI-generated.”
